Sugar-Free Gum
In case you have missed brushing or flossing, chewing sugar-free gum can prove helpful. As artificial sweeteners such as Xylitol is proven good for teeth. In comparison to another sweetener, it reduces dental caries. It is a natural substitute and one of the best cavity fighter. Chewing sugar-free gum results in removing acidic foods from the surface of your teeth. Hence, acid formation at the enamel is prevented. The production rate of salvia in your mouth also improves. All food residue is washed away with it.
Caledon dentistry, however, suggests not to chew gum extensively. This is because chewing gum can affect your jaw joint known as the Temporomandibular Joint.
